Dear ISKCON Leaders and Educators
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
We seek your support to widely share with members of your communities about the annual flagship event called Gitanushilanam – The Biggest Online Bhagavad Gita Competition ( https://learngitalivegita.com/gitanushilanam) to be held on 3rd January as part of the Gita Jayanti events. As a run up to the finale there would be quizzes, verse recitation, and Krishna art competition. More than 20000 students are expected to participate in this event. The state government of Jharkhand in India has already declared this as an official event and has directed all Government schools to take part in this event.
The event is part of an important online Gita education initiative www.learngitalivegita.com (LGLG), which contains 10 lessons with over 60 videos to ensure the graduates learn the practical application of Bhagavad Gita As It Is in their lives. It is developed by a diverse team of educators under the expert direction of H.G. Lila Purusottam Prabhu (Dr. Laxmidhar Behera, Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur). H.H. Gopal Krishna Maharaja has offered his constant support and encouragement for the development of this program and even presided over its first convocation held on 25th October 2020.
The foundational online Gita Education initiative (https://youtu.be/ejV-k71YWng) is now available in both English and Hindi language. Through our joint efforts with LGLG, ISKCON Ministry of Education would like to assist in its adoption around the globe in many languages.
We consider this an important educational initiative for young students both within and outside of ISKCON. The registrations are now open until 20th December 2020 for the flagship event and we are hopeful that with your support many more will participate from around the world.
Your servant,
Tapana Mishra dasa.
